District 4-A1 Contact: Paul Wagner
Phone: 510-910-3755
Recently, the boundary for pickup of glasses, pull tabs, and ink cartridges has been extended to include all of District 4-A1 – from Lodi to the Yosemite Zone – from Upcountry to Dos Palos. All that is needed are at least 25 pair of glasses and a phone.
The first part is easy, but you must want to do it. Folks around Linden have contacted local eye doctors and established a monthly route that nets 100-150 pair per month. The hospitals contribute a like amount. The club has a central box for members to put the few pair they might have.
Results: 300-400 pairs of glasses per month from Linden. Who knows what this type of plan or any variation would bring your club? Pull tabs and cans can be picked up with the glasses; but please keep them separated. The second part is just as easy as the first. Grab a phone and call 510-910-3755. This will put you in contact with Paul Wagner, who will schedule a pick-up with you at your location. Remember, every pair counts when we have needy people. CALL ME!
The recycling value of the aluminum pull tabs goes to support the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento, on the University of California Davis Campus. Our District 4-A1 clubs receive help from Sacramento’s Ronald McDonald House. Three children from the Linden area have gone there!
Families with children in the hospital can stay for $15/night if we can help offset other costs. If you would like to donate your pull tabs to help this worthy cause, find your local Lions club HERE and give them to the Lion who collects them! PULL TABS/POP TAB PROGRAM: rmhcnc.org/get-involved/pop-tab-program
(Lions: Bring your pull tabs to a District Meeting to be delivered to the designated recycling station. Please make sure your Club name and pounds are on the bag, box or container. Not able to attend the District Meeting? Contact Lion Paul Wagner to make arrangements!)
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northern California (RMHCNC) is located in Sacramento, on the UC Davis campus. Their pantry is almost empty! The last two years have been especially difficult.
