Homespun wigs for little cancer fighters!

The Magic Yarn Project creates soft, whimsical yarn wigs for children battling cancer and other types of medical hair loss.

It is a 100% volunteer-powered, 501(C)3 nonprofit.

Since 2016 they have shipped over 50,000 wigs and character beanies to children in all 50 United States and over 50 countries worldwide. Free to the families that receive them.

The wigs tend to bring smiles to a child’s face who is struggling through an extremely difficult time in his or her life.

It improves self-esteem and self-worth. The wigs and beanies give children a sense of being special and included.

4-A1 introduced this project in Lion Year 2023-24. We shared winding boards throughout the district and yarn to get started. You will find information on the district website for winding boards and instructions.
